Apple is reportedly planning to push back the release of the regular iPhone 18 until spring 2027. This would break a pattern of launching the main iPhone models every fall for over ten years. However, the company might still unveil its first foldable iPhone in the fall of 2026, and the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max are expected to come out in September 2026 as scheduled. The iPhone 17 will stay the latest standard model for more than 18 months, which would be the first time Apple goes a full year without releasing a new regular iPhone. The iPhone 17 was launched in September 2025.
This delay is likely because Apple’s product lineup is growing. They introduced the iPhone 16e and iPhone Air last year, and there are rumors about a foldable iPhone in 2026. By the end of 2026, Apple could have at least eight different iPhone models available. Still, leaks about the base iPhone 18 are already starting to spread. Here’s what we know so far about the upcoming iPhone 18.
