Microsoft has launched a new AI image tool called MAI Image 2. It is the company’s second-generation model and is designed to create more realistic images and clearer text inside images.
To improve the quality, Microsoft worked with photographers, designers, and visual experts while building the model. The aim is to produce images with natural lighting, correct skin tones, and real-looking backgrounds. This helps users spend less time editing after the image is created.
Microsoft says the tool is made for creative people who want images that look real and ready to use. This means they can focus more on creating rather than fixing images later.
The model also improves text generation inside images. It can create clear and accurate text for things like infographics, presentations, and diagrams.
MAI Image 2 is currently available for preview on MAI Playground. It is also being added to Microsoft Copilot and Bing Image Creator, making it easier for users to create images within tools they already use.
For now, API access is limited to selected users, but Microsoft plans to expand it soon through Microsoft Foundry.
The company also said that MAI Image 2 is ranked third in the world for AI image generation, according to Arena.ai. However, it still faces competition from other popular models like DALL-E 3, Midjourney 6.1, and Google’s Nano Bana 2.
