The National Testing Agency has cancelled the NEET-UG 2026 examination following allegations of a paper leak and other irregularities. The Government of India has also directed the Central Bureau of Investigation to conduct a detailed investigation into the matter.
According to officials, the decision was taken after the NTA reviewed inputs from central agencies and findings shared by law enforcement authorities. The agency said the move aims to maintain transparency and fairness in the examination system.
Meanwhile, the Rajasthan Special Operations Group is also investigating the alleged paper leak case. In another development, the CBI has taken custody of a man detained earlier by Nashik Police in connection with the investigation.
NEET-UG is the national entrance examination for students seeking admission to undergraduate medical courses across India. The examination will now be conducted again, and fresh dates will be announced separately by the NTA.
